Frequently Asked Questions
A keder rail is a guide track, usually made of aluminum, with a round groove. You slide the keder—the thickened edge of a sun sail, awning, canopy, or tarp—into this groove. This allows you to attach your shade to the vehicle quickly and securely without having to improvise every time.
Best to use both. The special adhesive seals the joint and distributes the load across the entire bonded surface, while the stainless steel screws provide additional mechanical support. Our rails are pre-drilled for this purpose, so that bonding and screwing together ensure a permanently secure fit.
The piping of your sun canopy, awning, or tent is inserted into the rail. Make sure that the thickness of the piping matches the groove of the rail. Our Multirail rails are designed for standard piping on sun canopies and awnings.
Our Multirail piping rails are specially developed for the VW T5, T6, and T6.1, available for either the short (SWB) or long wheelbase (LWB). Even with a pop-up or elevating roof, the rail fits in the designated position.
