Tinted car windows offer several benefits, including sun protection, privacy, and heat insulation. Since tinted glass reduces solar radiation, the vehicle interior heats up more slowly, which ensures greater comfort, especially in a camper. Additionally, you gain more privacy, as tinted car windows make it harder to see inside. This protects you not only from prying eyes but potentially also from theft, as valuables inside the vehicle are less visible.
That depends on the car window. In Germany, it is generally permitted to tint car windows, provided that certain limits are observed. The windshield and front side windows must have a light transmission of at least 70%; the tint must not be too dark here. The rear side windows and the rear window may have a darker tint. However, the vehicle must be equipped with two functional side mirrors to ensure adequate visibility to the rear.
We do not use film for our tinted windows. Instead, at MobyVan, we rely on an 80% black stained tint, which is of higher quality and more durable. The tinting level corresponds to the common tinting level on the market, which is also recommended by vehicle manufacturers.
