Additionally, you gain more privacy, as tinted car windows make it harder to see inside. That depends on the car window. In Germany, it is generally permitted to tint car windows, provided certain limits are adhered to. The windshield and front side windows must have a light transmittance of at least 70%; the tinting here must not be too dark. The rear windows and the rear windshield may have a stronger tint. However, the vehicle must have 2 functional exterior mirrors to ensure adequate rearward visibility.
